Adžić

Adžić is the vineyard and cellar of Antun Adžić and his son Željko at Kutjevo in Slavonia. Growing and making wine has been a family occupation for decades, but the bottles from the 1995 harvest were the first they sold. The vineyards lie in the Kutjevo vinogorje on the southern slopes of the Krndija hills, where vines have been grown since the 13th century, with most of the holding on the Hrnjevac, Venje and Mitrovac sites; the estate runs to about 35,000 vines on 10 hectares. Graševina is more than 60 percent of production and is fermented spontaneously on its own yeasts in stainless steel, at around 45,000 bottles a year. The range also covers Rhine Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Zweigelt, matured in both steel and wooden casks.
